Enchanted Hill Alpacas
When selecting breeding stock, we kept two points in mind: (1) Our alpacas must be calm and friendly.(2) The fiber must be interesting, suitable for spinning, & a delight to work with.

RCF Fancy Girl

Pattern, 844042, 1/4 Bolivian, 1/4 Chilean, 1/2 Peruvian

A unique blend of Peruvian, Bolivian, and Chilean genetics, Fancy Girl shows the hybrid vigor one would wish for from this type of outcrossing. Her fiber is dense, with good character, and she is well-covered, especially on her head where her bonnet is always giving her the "Bobblehead look" (hence her nickname of "Bobble"!). She birthed her first cria with ease, milks well, and is very defensive of her offspring, being the only female in the herd who will not tolerate the herd's guardian dog within several feet of her cria.

For those looking for fancies, when bred to a pinto, Fancy Girl produced a spectacular evenly-marked cria. Presently, Fancy Girl is bred to a fawn, full Peruvian, Augusto grandson with great fiber character, so a beautiful cria with hybrid vigor is expected in May 2006.

If you're looking for eye-catching, go no further. Since the day he was born, folks have commented about Even Steven's markings. The spots on his face are amazingly even, as are the ones on his feet. The large, symmetrical spot on his chest is "even" shaped like a pair of little shorts. If you can take your eyes off his pictures, take a look at his pedigree. If you're one of the many folks who, like us, want to have some hybrid vigor in your herd, Even Steven is one who could do that when he reaches breeding age. He has a good "dose" of genes from all three countries that are the points of origin for American alpacas.
