7141 Peruvian Courtney

Light Brown, 837481, Full Peruvian

Courtney has proven herself to be a great asset to our herd. She gave birth to a robust female cria in the fall of 2004 and had so much milk that it was dripping on the ground. It was a daily ritual to watch Courtney being followed around the pasture by all of the nursing youngsters trying to get an extra treat. She did not allow any snitching but her daughter has grown at an incredible rate. At 4 months of age she was already 77 lbs.

In addition to her great mothering skills, she produced a rose gray off-spring for us. Pinkie is an amazing shade of pink and will show in the roan class. She is a strong, straight girl with profuse fiber that is lustrous and nicely crimped at the skin. Born late in the fall, we did not shear her, so her cria tips are masking what is underneath, but at shearing she will be able to display her beautiful fiber.

We bred Courtney to full Peruvian, silver gray Silverado, for an October 2005 cria. There is a very good chance that this will

Jewel is a very straight, nicely proportioned daughter of the famous silver gray Peruvian Silverado. We originally listed her as true black, but after shearing it is very evident that she is a silver gray. As she gets older, there is more and more gray showing up in her fleece. With her classic gray markings of white face and legs she should be a producer of both gray and black at maturity. She has nice coverage, very good density, and is another robust product of her dam, Peruvian Courtney. Her dam has produced 2 females in a row and is a reliable breeder who has trouble-free pregnancies, births, and an abundant supply of milk. Jewel has a very shiny fleece with a nice crimp beginning to show now that her cria fleece has begun to grow out.

A breeding to any unrestricted Whistler's Glen Alpacas herdsire is included in her sale. We would suggest Black Night who is a full Peruvian out of both powerhouses Dom Timbo and Silvio lines and has an all gray heritage. Or use Sterling Apocalypse who has enthusiastically started his breeding career and has become one of our most efficient breeders. If you prefer you can use the breeding on one of your other femles now. Call to see her soon.
