  Request The Best
    Medium Silver Grey, 132842, Chilean

This incredible herd sire has phenomenal coverage and conformation. His color is silver gray with some black highlights (no brown!). He descends from a long line of gray alpacas. Nearly 80 percent of his crias have been black, charcoal gray, silver gray, indefinite gray and rose-gray. Request the Best has won three first place awards in three consecutive years at the AOBA National Conference. Without a doubt he is absolutely one spectacular gray males in the country, and his son Streak is following in his footsteps!

If you are wondering why we are so excited about Streak being full Chilean, then we invite you to read an article by Maggie Krieger. Maggie resounds the attributes of the Chilean alpacas and the excellent fineness, handle and low guard hair and what can be benefited in a breeding program by crossing Chilean – Peruvian – Bolivian livestock. A large breeder on the West coast breeds exclusively Chileans and their show winnings are astounding and impressive to say the least.

Streak has excellent coverage, fine fleece, high frequency low amplitude crimp, and according to one AOBA Certified Senior Judge, “extremely uniform crimp and style all over his body”, which won him a 1st Place ribbon over another alpaca that had never taken anything but a 1st Place ribbon until he went up against Streak!

Streak has taken numerous ribbons including a 1st Place at the North American International Livestock Exhibition in 2003 and a 5th Place at the AOBA National Conference is 2004! Judged by Kristin Buhrmann at the 2004 AOBA National Conference, Kristin stated that there was not much difference between any of the alpacas standing in front of her and that the only thing separating the alpacas was very slight differences in fineness and density and that this was one of the toughest grey male classes she’d ever judged!

The colors of Streak’s family tree include, MSG, WH, BB, MRG, LSG, DB, LRG, BB, with the WH being a secondary color, so it will be no surprise when he’s bred to Grey, TB or BB that he’ll produce a grey, either Silver or Rose!
