You can't help but smile when you look at Puddin' Face.
This Bueno granddaughter is proud, correct, full of crimp, fineness, and has an abundance of coverage. She has Chocolate Pudding on her mouth and chin with brown trim on each of her feet. She also has a fawn spot on her back, black eyeliner, black toenails and grey skin. All of that tells us she can produce color in her offspring.
She is out of Roscoe, a Bueno son, and a white Peruvian Import who knows how to produce fabulous cria. She placed in a large class of whites at MIAF 2004. We just did some hands on in the barn, and I noted that Puddin's fleece is so very dense you can hardly get down into it to feel her body score.
BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENT Puddin' Face just delivered a beautiful beige female. She is very curly, and very straight. She has dark toenails, and grey mouth and dark skin at her ears. She also is dark around the eyes. Due to her fabulous bloodlines we are expecting to se

Shangri Las father is the late West Coast Legend Accoyo Caligula, (All American Alpaca Futurity Herd sire of the Year & National AOBA Get a Sire Winner) and his mother is Accoyo Sunipani (2 time National AOBA Fleece Show Winner & National Judges Choice Award). This combination produced Shangri Las full older brother Accoyo El Nino as well. El Nino is Pacific Crest/Accoyo Americas chosen predecessor to Caligula. El Nino's breeding fees was $10,000 until recently when Greg Mecklem completely closed his farm to outside breedings. At the 2006 National AOBA Show, a donated El Nino breeding was Auctioned off for an unheard of price of $15,000.

. Angel has now come of age. She has a great amount of lustrous, crimpy fleece. Note the little hint of brown on her muzzle, just like her Dam, Puddin' Face. She also has dark nails, and skin, and black eyliner. She will be able to pass on color to her offspring. I asked a couple of experienced breeders and fiber artists to look at her fleece and give me a critique. they were very impressed. they told me that her luster was very impressive, and the crimp was outstanding! We have high hopes for this little girl.I have to say her fleece is even better this year. She is very dense, and her fleece has great shine and crimp, not to mention a great staple length. You need to get your hands on her to appreciate her quality.
Angel has some very impressive genetics,a mix of BUENO AND CALIGULA. SHEARING UPDATE Shearing was amazing. Angel's fleece was even better than imagined. the Shearer (who has seen thousands of fleeces) was very impressed. "very organized bundles, well defined crimp, great luster, superior staple length." Wow, you have to get your hands on her. She will be bred to a high quality stud to improve and maintain her excellent quality. She sheared 9.8 Pounds of buttery crimpy fleece. Congrats and a sincere thank you to Robin, who bought all of Angel's prize fleece. Can't wait to see the finished spinning project!
Angel sells with a free breeding to any available Herdsire at Benchmark Alpacas. That makes this a great three in one package. FIBER NOTE I am beginnimg to spin Angel's 2009 fleece. It is absolutely breathtaking. It is as beautiful as any I have seen. I am anxious to see a finished project, and perhaps another fleece ribbon at AOBA Nationals.
