Enchanted Hill Alpacas
When selecting breeding stock, we kept two points in mind:
(1) Our alpacas must be calm and friendly.
(2) The fiber must be interesting, suitable for spinning, & a delight to work with.

Hokie Pride

White, 816941, 1/2 Chilean, 1/2 Peruvian

If you're looking to add a healthy, young, and sturdy producer to your herd, Hokie Pride is worth taking a look at. White, with a colored dam, she has produced three colored crias and has milked well. In fact, her mothering instinct is so strong that with her first cria, she adopted an orphan and raised two healthy babies. That's on her first lactation!

In our herd, we have been extremely pleased with animals of diverse pedigree. Being half Peruvian and half Chilean, Hokie has that winning combination of genes, with the Peruvian genes coming from Mister Universe, a seldon-seen contributor of import genetics. With good bone and excellent conformation, this girl should be a super producer of outstanding crias for years to come.

Hokie is presently bred to full Peruvian KQA-Keen, a beautiful beige herdsire (grandson of PPPeruvian Cordero). This is a repeat breeding, since a like breeding for 2005 produced a gorgeous fawn female cria.

    Light Fawn, 822540, Peruvian

Peruvian Keen is a fabulous sire who passes good conformation and great fiber qualities to his offspring. He is a sturdy, large-boned animal that is very easily handled.

Keen is a son of Princess Lee-ah (Peruvian import) and AFA Peruvian Tribute. Tribute is an offspring of Ppperuvian Cordero 6002 and Ppperuvian Brista 4819.

Enchanted Hill Hokus Pokus Sold!

Listed by Ed & Joanie Kinser of Bent Mountain, VA

Print Listing | Certificate | Histogram

Hokus Pokus is the result of a planned rebreeding of his dam to the sire that produced such an outstanding female cria in 2005 (see Enchanted Hill Okey Dokey in our sold listings). And the result is not only great, but even better than expected.

Hokus was born with unbelievably kinky fiber, making him look like an Angora goat kid. As his coat grows, it continues to look fantastic and has a great handle. We predict that his first fiber analysis will show that his fiber will equal or exceed that of his full sister, whose measurements included a micron value of 19.

And to top off the good looks, we have personality! Hokus will amble over to check out what you're doing and stick around while the other herd members disappear over the hill. Some days he likes to have his ears scratched for a few minutes and then he runs off to find his mom and playmates.

The presently listed price will increase at weaning. Pay for him in full now and save!
