Brookhollow's Cerise

Light Rose Grey, 849887, 3/8 Chilean, 5/8 Peruvian

Cerise, a Royal Fawn granddaughter, is a gorgeous and most unusual color of light rose gray. She was shown as a yearling in light fawn and in light rose gray classes and took ribbons in both shows. Her fleece is very dense and fine. She is personable with a sweet disposition who adapts to new surroundings very nicely and is a real pleasure to work with. She is the daughter of Brookhollow's El Nino Royale and Skyeview's Willow, a lovely red brown lady. Cerise has given us two lovely fawn female crias, Franchesca and Ginger, and two stunning males: Harrison a light brown boy out of SHRA Calypsa and Intrepid Spirit, a silver gray male out of Eduardo. Cerise will be bred again in the Spring to Eduardo.

  SHRA Calypsa
    Light Fawn, 819705, Full Peruvian

An Accoyo son of Felix and a grandson of Caligula on his dam's side, Calypsa possesses a regal bearing and perfect conformation. With his commanding presence, it is no surprise that Calypsa captured a first place at the 2001 AOBA Nationals. His lustrous, champagne-colored fleece is extremely fine and dense. His AFD at 4 years of age was a low 22.5 microns. This year he sheared an amazing 11 pounds of fleece! He has won either first or second place in every Spin-Off he has entered.

He has 25 outstanding crias on the ground showing a variety of colors including beige, fawn, light brown, true black, rose gray, and silver gray. Calypsa is one of those rare Accoyos who lets the color of the dam pass through while passing along his density and fineness to his crias.

At the 2005 East Meets West Auction, Calypsa's daughter, Brookhollow's Athena, was the highest selling female at $60,000! His daughter Beauchner's Jasmine just won best light color championship at the 2

BSF Harrison Sold!

Print Listing | Certificate | Histogram

Harrison has soft, crimpy, fine fleece with good density like his sire, SHRA Calypsa.
He is registered as a light brown color but has a rose gray topline and some gray on his ears, so he probably carries some of the rose gray genetics of his dam. He has been shown in both light brown and dark fawn classes.
He is very curious, leads nicely, and gets along well with the boys. He is already studying the techniques of his elders and is working to perfect his orgling.
He has excellent conformation, straight legs, perfect bite and nice compact size. He has been shown twice and won ribbons both times. He won a 4th place ribbon at MAPACA and was one of the youngest in his class--a very competitive light brown class. He took a 3rd place at the SEPA show in a class of 8. The judge commented on his fine head. His fleece is very bright with a soft handle. I recently sold half of his fleece to a hand spinner who was absolutely thrilled to feel its incredible softness.
UPDATE: Harrison has retained his fineness with a micron count of just 21.7 this year.
We think he will make a fine herdsire. We cannot make as much use of him as we would like as we already have his genetics in his herdsire, Calypsa.
