Calista D559 AOA

Light Brown, 825379, 3/4 Chilean, 1/4 Peruvian

Calista is a beautiful granddaughter of P. Pluro. She has a fine fleece with good coverage. Her light brown female 2005 cria, Ion's Beauty, out of Ion is nothing but amazing (Beauty got a 2nd place at TxOLAN 06, a 4th at MOPACA 06, and a 3rd at GWAS 06). She also has nice coverage and uniform throughout. Calista is bred back to Xanadu P. Placido on 7 Jun 05 for a May 2006 cria. Placido should add fineness and awesome crimp to this cria. Beauty has been a superb ribbon winner in the shows we took her to this spring. She placed in every show we took her to this year.

  Peruvian Challenge
    White, 186603, Full Peruvian

We bought Peruvian Challenge from Stewart's Royal Alpacas and we are extremely happy with this addition to our herd. Density is the watchword with Challenge. Sandy and I have seen very few alpacas with density in their fleece like Challenge. His fineness and confirmation are great, too. Stewart's have been in the business for over 14 years and they said he was one of the very best they ever owned. He has produced some really top-notch offspring over the years. They liked him so much that they bought him back in 2005 to get some more crias from him in 2006. With almost 50 registered offspring on the ground, he is the most prolific of all of the Chaparral offspring. Farms that have Challenge offspring in their herd will receive a discount on his stud fee!! Please just mention you saw it on Alpaca Nation. We have one of his offspring for sale as a junior herdsire, Stud Muffin, who is out of one of our very best females (sheared the most fleece of all the females last year).

RED BEARD has won 2 blue ribbons in halter AND a Reserve Color Championship at GWAS 2008. We entered his fleece in the AFCNA Continental 2008 Fleece Show in Denver IN THE SOLID BROWN CLASS and he won a 1st Place in that class. RED BEARD is not your typical MULTI alpaca. He come out of a great herdsire that has over 50 crias on the ground all around the country as well as one of our very best colored production females at Black Forest Alpacas. RED BEARD is a eye-catching show stopper. The judge at TxOLAN this spring said he was one of the nicest males she had seen all day. He has great fleece characteristics and confirmation. His markings on his face add to his cute look and his "red" beard. We would be willing to sell Red Beard but we decided we weren't going to put a "fireside" sale price on him. WE CAN ALWAYS USE A MALE OF HIS CALIBER in our own program. We put Red Beard to work for his first breeding in 2009, he and Cassaundra produced Grand Marquis -- she is a stunning diamond! We name her that because of the Marquis diamond cut - it is a brilliant cut and Grand Marquis is brilliant too, and SO cute! She has outstanding fleece, clearly coming from her sire. We ARE using him in our breeding program. He produced Celtic Thunder and Whiskey Lullaby in 2012 and they are both sold at about 7 months old! He is also sire to Laurel, a fawn female and Branch, a dark brown male. I really like how he passes on his great characteristics!
