Amelia is a sweet, easy-to-handle girl, with gorgeous colored fleece. She has given us three beautiful crias, but all have had to be transfused after birth. We are told that this is NOT genetic, but due to her weight problem. She has easy births, and is a wonderful Mom, so this is your chance to obtain a superior animal at a real bargain price. Her crias are pictured on this page.
Amelia comes with a free breeding to Granite, our rose gray herdsire, if you like, but we make no guarantee regarding milk production. She does produce SOME milk, but just not enough to sustain weight gain for the cria. In all other aspects, she is just a very attentive Mom, and gets along well with everyone, humans and alpacas alike.
UPDATE: Amelia's first-born cria has just had her first baby, and that cria's IgG level was OVER 3000!!! That adds further reason to believe her lack of milk is NOT hereditary. So, if you're looking for a full Peruvian female, and you're willing to put in the extra time taking care of her cria, this is a fantastic bargain!!
