BSF Chanel No. 5

Medium Fawn, 835569, 1/2 Chilean, 1/2 Peruvian

Chanel is the friendliest of all of our alpacas. She is the first one to greet visitors and is everyone's favorite to pet.
She has an exceptionally dense and cripy fleece with incredible luster and an AFD of 23.4. She is a handspinners dream typically shearing over 7 lbs. She is compact in stature with good bone and perfect bite. Her sire is SA Peruvian Black-N-Decker, out of Peruvian Dark Ali and Black Magic so there is a lot of color in her background. Chanel's first born cria, Fernando, is a beautiful light fawn male cria who is out of our blue ribbon winning full accoyo herdsire, SHRA Calypsa.

  SHRA Calypsa
    Light Fawn, 819705, Full Peruvian

A full Accoyo son of Felix and a grandson of Caligula on his dam's side, Calypsa possesses a regal bearing and perfect conformation. With his commanding presence, it is no surprise that Calypsa won a first place blue ribbon as a yearling at the 2001 AOBA Nationals. His lustrous, champagne-colored fleece is extremely fine and dense. His AFD at 4 years of age was a low 22.5 microns. This year he sheared an amazing 11 pounds of fleece! He continues to win blue ribbons for his fleece at the national conferences.

He has 25 outstanding crias on the ground showing a variety of colors including white, beige, fawn, light brown, true black, rose gray, and silver gray. Most recently,he has produced a handsome light brown boy named Harrison and a lovely little rose gray girl. Calypsa is one of those rare Accoyos who lets the color of the dam pass through while passing along his density and fineness to his crias.

Fernando bears the influence of his strong Accoyo genetics in his huge fleece which has remarkable character, bundling, density and incredible crimp as well as amazing staple length. He has good conformation and a correct bite.
He is very easy to manage and gets along well with other males.

Fernando looks to be a very promising herdsire. We like the way he is turning out with his small compact stature.
