to high end sires and produced our first crias. All three went on to win ribbons in large classes at national shows. Statistics like that don't happen by accident. Ribbons awarded by national judges ARE the proof in the pudding, so there's no guesswork. Careful pairing of parents that compliment each other's fiber & conformation, and studying what they've produced in the past involves much time, but is time well spent. We have purchased & bred to quality alpacas from diverse and elite genetics, bringing in some of the most desired & top producing lines in the U.S. Every year we proudly display our youngsters at shows for judges to rate, consistently winning ribbons in fleece & halter shows. We've now increased our herd to the point where we're able to offer some starters that have produced so well for us and we'll concentrate on their next generation for our future production. These girls offered for sale have again been bred to elite high end sires that have proven their quality in national shows with many impressive wins. The girls who've produced the most outstanding animals have been bred back to the service sire of that pairing. This holds true for both girls we're selling & those we're keeping. There's only one standard at Sunrose Alpacas: Start with the best you can and breed to the very best. This has worked so well for us and we are taking more and higher placing ribbons with every show, improving the herd quality substantially with each breeding. Our animals are affordably priced for the new breede

Too Much Fun !

Gorgeous Colors

After years of raising Arabian horses and various other farm animals, we were delighted to find out about alpacas. Here is a mild, quiet, clean and beautiful animal that does well on small acreage, gets along with everyone in small or large herds, and is easy to keep! Needless to say, we are now completely committed to the lifestyle. We currently keep only a very small number of other animals and are concentrating on the noble and lovable alpaca. Their beauty and gentle nature make them such a pleasure to watch as they graze and frolic in the pasture. The fact that they are such hardy creatures provides peace of mind that is tough to find raising other animals. I love the ease with which they can be kept and raised. After cleaning up after horses and chickens, I can't get over how clean alpacas are. Our current herd of 22 alpacas are less work and eat much less than two horses! People stop and visit our farm with children & grandchildren. We receive calls requesting farm visits from girl scout groups and caregivers of special needs children. The alpacas are never a worry with the small children and seem to be endlessly fascinated that humans come in such small sizes. One of our girls, Lilly, lays down to let the youngsters pet her and sit on her back. Because we are a small farm our animals receive alot of individual attention and enjoy having people join them in their pastures. In an effort to expose as many people as possible to this relaxing and rewarding lifestyle, we encourage farm visits whether or not we have any animals available for sale at the time. We also offer affordable starter animals & packages to folks looking to try this wonderfully satisfying venture. When showtime arrives, the alpacas just jump in the minivan and away we go! We know each and every animal we have very well. Most have been born right here on our farm. Our herd changes in size each year but our commitment to quality never waivers.

Breeder Biography

We have sold our beloved herd but hope to get back into alpacas again if the economy improves. There's just nothing like these gentle, serene creatures. We have met the nicest people in purchasing, selling and showing these magnificent animals. It IS, without a doubt, addictive and we are now BIG-time addicts. What a life!
