I'm getting ready to overseed my pastures soon. In the past I have used seed mix purchased from Nature's Seed. It is a mix of the following: • 40% Orchardgrass • 30% Tall Fescue (endophyte free) • 15% Kentucky Bluegrass • 15% Timothy.
Last year to cover five acres it cost $476.76 at a rate of 20 lbs/acre.
I've been shopping around and have found other mixes that are less expensive, but have different grasses but still include orchard grass.
What do you all use for overseeding? We are located in southern Tennessee near Lynchburg.

Greetings! I would keep any fescues out of your mixes. Even "Endophyte-free" strains of fescue will eventually develop the endophyte as they interbreed with you local wild fescues. Perennial rye grasses should also be avoided, as they also can carry an endophyte which can cause problems.
Best to you for this year's seeding!
