It's been just over a month since we launched AlpacaNation+ (Beta) and we wanted to send a quick update on how the 'Beta' phase is going and some important changes. We also wanted to take the time to say how excited we are to get such a great response to our latest upgrade! We have received an amazing amount of comments and feedback and we are truly thankful to everyone for taking the time to help us test and perfect AN+. There are three important updates that we want to communicate in this email.

1. Resolving Errors/Discrepancies - Not only has AlpacaNation+ provided the ability to view additional detailed information about any alpaca being researched on AN, it has also provided a great way to report any discrepancies that are found within a listing. We've never had an easy way for members to quickly see what other listings have been added to AN that are somehow connected back to their animals. By providing that view through the AN+ lineage and offspring charts, our members can quickly see cases where a listing has been incorrectly entered and inadvertently related to another listing. To make sure these items are resolved quickly, we've added a 'Provide Feedback/Report a Discrepancy' link on every AN+ listing. We have received over 130 feedback/discrepancy emails and have corrected 99% of the issues simply by fixing typos in member listings. We know that some members were initially frustrated to see these discrepancies, but if AN+ were not launched, those errors would still be in place, unbeknownst to the members and the AN team. Almost everyone we've worked with to resolve any discrepancies has been happy to see i) that the errors were found and ii) that they were resolved quickly. We are excited about having a mechanism in place to improve the quality and reliability of our database through this effort.

2. Opt-Out Feature - There have been a few farms that have commented that they are not interested in having AlpacaNation+ displayed on their listings. We understand the need to have this option and we have just added a new 'Opt-Out' feature that is now available in your account. If you choose to 'Opt-Out' of AN+, the side menu bar option will be removed from all of the listings within your account. Keep in mind that opting out of AN+ means that you could miss out on a lot of links and click throughs to your listings where your animals are listed in the lineage and offspring charts on other member's listings. To take advantage of the 'Opt-Out' feature, please follow these tabs from the blue menu bar within your personal account: Go to Farm Site, then Additional Farm Pages, and select Advanced Options.

3. Listing History and Show Awards Removed - We want our members to know we have reviewed all comments and concerns regarding the AlpacaNation+ upgrade. We also took advantage of the Polling options within the AN Forum to get more precise feedback. As a result, we have decided to remove two AN+ categories: Listing History and Show Awards. This change has already been made to the AN+ menu categories. We found that Listing History had the potential to display information about an animal that could have been misinterpreted by browsers, and the Show Awards option was not activated in this initial release of AN+. Coincidentally, these two areas were identified as being of greatest concern by our members. As a result, it was an easy decision to remove these two items from the AN+ menu.

Thank you again for all of your feedback and please continue to provide your comments to Customer Service. We are planning to continue the 'Beta' phase of AN+ through October 31st. We look forward to launching the final product and to offering more upgrades in the future!
