Can I just vent? It's July. JULY. This morning there was visible frost on several of my darker girls. Yes, frost. Where's summer? We had a foot of snow on May 5. 90+ degrees in mid-July, and frost two weeks later. I know fall's coming, but this is ridiculous.

There are a group of horse owners on FB who were chatting this morning about how their horses are already blowing summer coat and gearing up for winter. That's . . . wow! Here, we've been alternating between days of high 80's and burnt pastures and days of 50's and rain. Crazy year!

We had temps in the mid 90's last week, high humidity, A/C weather. Sunday I lit a fire in the wood stove, the high was 62. I wore my winter jacket to mow. That's the second time this month a fire was burning.

I'm not complaining about the cool weather we've had. I get a lot more done than with the 90 + temps, when all I want to do is stay inside with the a/c and the pacas all stay in the barn with the fans running 24/7. It was in the upper 50's here last night, my a/c was turned off, as were the big fans in the barns, the last several days, and it is absolutely great weather for working outside today. Don't even mention the word "winter" or "fall" yet. August is waiting in the wings yet.
